A bucket full of nice cream – what a dream, right? I haven’t shared a simple nice cream recipe in a while, but now that it’s Easter time, it’s about time to show you some COLOR and perhaps even a bit of spring vibes? Nice cream is our go-to healthy sweet snack in spring and summer, and this dreamy tricolor creation: chocolate, mint chocolate and strawberry nice cream is our favorite nice cream combination of all time.
Classic nice creams with a twist
To my surprise I actually didn’t feel like playing with colors a lot this time. I just added a hint of spirulina to the mint chocolate to give it a lovely green color and also a nutritional boost. The baby pink is a result of blending some sweet frozen strawberries and a banana, it’s as simple as that. And the chocolate brown – easy to guess: it’s just raw cacao powder. Sometimes sticking to the very basics feels (and tastes!) good 🙂
The secret ingredient
I did play with the texture, like I always do when I want really creamy nice cream. You can read about the basics of nice cream making in my creamy lingonberry nice cream post.
I applied one of my tricks here too: coconut cream! If you’ve never tasted coconut cream in nice cream, I seriously urge you to try. It makes nice cream so soft and fluffy that it’s almost impossible to believe the basic ingredients are just plants.
With this sweet snack wishing you all Happy Healthy Easter!
- Chocolate nice cream

- Mint chocolate nice cream

- [br]
- Strawberry nice cream
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 3 tbsp coconut cream
- Two chopped frozen strawberries
- Peel ripe (spotted) bananas and chop them into small pieces. Freeze bananas at least 3-5 hours before making the nice cream.
- Blend each nice cream flavor separately in a powerful food processor or high-speed blender cleaning the container in between each flavor.
- Mix in brownie pieces to the chocolate nice cream, mint chocolate pieces to the mint chocolate nice cream and frozen strawberry pieces to the strawberry nice cream with a spoon.
- Eat immediately or freeze the nice cream for a couple of minutes to better scoop it into a bowl (or a bucket).
- Enjoy the fresh flavors!

Mmm hmm, yep, still in love with this! And your chocolate nicecream blend sounds crazy good–dates and coconut cream and BROWNIE CHUNKS!?! That’s like the ultimate chocolate ice cream recipe I think! All three flavors sound very yummy <3 Now I need to go find myself a pail, because I'm sure that is critical for proper nicecream flavor 🙂
